Boxing: A fight between Joshua and Fury ... in the spring of 2021?

Eddie Hearn, promoter of Anthony Joshua, opened the door to a fight against Tyson Fury.

Everyone dreams of seeing this. Since Tyson Fury regained the WBC heavyweight champion's belt from Deontay Wilder, the possibility of a 100% British reunification fight has surfaced. Anthony Joshua indeed owns all the other belts, with the titles WBO, WBA and IBF. The two boxers have already planned fights, although postponed by the coronavirus health crisis. Fury must revenge Wilder, while Joshua faces IBF official challenger Kubrat Pulev.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Eddie Hearn explained that negotiations have taken place with the entourage of Tyson Fury and that a fight is possible, for the spring of 2021. “Everything is resolved with money Said promoter Anthony Joshua, guest of The Boxing Show. “The negotiations are not in progress. We have a contract to fight Kubrat Pulev and, Tyson Fury has a contract to fight Deontay Wilder. With everything that is going on there is, I believe, willingness on the part of Anthony Joshua, our team and Tyson Fury and his team to potentially go straight into this fight. But the major obstacle is that we are both under contract for other fights. Right now, the focus is on the contracts we signed with a decision for the winners to fight the winners, probably in the spring of 2021”.
