6 things you should do before going to sleep

No one can deny that a good night's restorative sleep is the key to physical and mental well-being and performance. But falling into Morphée's arms is not easy for everyone, that's why we have put together for you the list of 6 things you should do before sleeping.

Because it is essential to the balance of our biological clock, and to our well-being, sleep deserves the place it deserves and must be within everyone's reach. Here are our 6 tips for enjoying a restful night's sleep:

1- Prepare your room

Sleeping well depends largely on how you prepare your room. The ideal environment for a restful night's sleep should be calm, dark, not too hot or too dry. So remember to ventilate your room during the day, choose a suitable bed and pillow, and remove all sources of artificial light and noise.

2- Do not wear your sleepwear until bedtime

After a long day at work, you only have one desire: to take a shower and put on your favorite pajamas. However, doctors advise that you wear your sleepwear only at bedtime to allow the brain to associate wearing pajamas with sleep and sleep more easily.

3- Put your phone aside

If you are used to spending your evenings watching TV and falling asleep with your phone in hand, know that you are disturbing your sleep. In fact, screen light is, according to specialists, a real threat to sleep, it forces your body to stay awake and can cause you countless worries, including dark circles under the eyes and fatigue.

4- Remember to breathe!

To ensure proper oxygenation for your brain, and to calm your mind, don't forget to breathe gently and deeply before sleeping. Inhale gently through the nose without forcing, first swelling the belly and then letting the rib cage open, then exhale gently, through the nose or through the mouth.

5- Drink a herbal tea

If you're still having trouble falling asleep, try herbal teas to relax, and get a deep, restful night's sleep. We recommend chamomile, verbena, basil or orange blossom.

6- Try essential oils

The essential oils of certain plants such as lavender, rose or marjoram can help considerably to improve the quality of your sleep. To use them, put a drop on the collar of your pajamas or on your pillow to sleep better.
